Upon moving to Chicago in 2012, I began to make photographs that examine traces of modernist housing experiments in Chicago—such as the infamous public housing project, Cabrini Green—testimony to persistent urban inequality. By photographing houses and buildings, I tried to visualize what has been lost in historic recounting, or the marks which accompany the disappearance of communities.
